Jennifer is an Associate Director at Takero Shimazaki Architects. She graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology and is involved with the direction and delivery of the majority of t-sa’s cultural and education projects with Takero. She is a leading designer on the team, and her focus is on delivery of high-quality bespoke projects through to completion. She has 14 years of experience working on refurbishment projects including many listed buildings, as well as new build developments.
Jennifer has also tutored for t-sa forum and t-sa forum mini - an architecture school for children. She has led workshops briefing 6-12-year old participants to design a theatre for Peacock Yard - t-sa’s home - taking inspiration from their own life stories and backgrounds.
As Project Architect for Curzon Bloomsbury, Jennifer oversaw the early stages of design development, attended client and team meetings, delivered design specification intent packages, coordinated all design intent, attended regular site meetings and undertook key site decisions with the design team, contractors and clients. Jennifer worked closely with Camden’s Conservation Team and Curzon’s development and marketing teams, balancing commercial viability, customer experience and the built architectural heritage, both past and future.
As Project Architect for Leicester Print Workshop, Jennifer worked closely with the Client team, especially during construction when the LPW’s wider community became involved to complete internal partitioning for artist studios, wayfinding, shop fit out, external buildings, landscaping and handover to artists and printmakers. In 2016, Jennifer was subsequently awarded RIBA Project Architect of the Year in the East Midlands region following nomination by the LPW director.
Recently Jennifer has lead the team on the delivery of a further cinema in Camden for Curzon Cinemas
which is currently completing. She has also worked alongside Takero and Cécile on the estate wide
masterplan and proposals at South Ormsby Estate including the refurbishment of an old school to a new
nursery completed earlier this year. Jennifer was recently awarded the MJ Long Prize for Excellence
in Practice 2024, recognising her expansive body of work realised at t-sa spanning over 10 years
including the Royal Academy of Dance.
