A campaigning journalist, Will has spent recent years focused on the climate impacts of the built environment and is currently spearheading the AJ RetroFirst campaign for reuse of existing buildings. He has written for national newspapers such as the Guardian, Times, Telegraph and The Financial Times, been interviewed on live TV and radio and been quoted in titles ranging from The New Statesman to The New Yorker.

Will has also delivered lectures and participated in public debates for organisations including New London Architecture, Open City, the RIBA, the Royal Society of Architects in Wales, the Bartlett at UCL and the Institute for Sustainability Leadership at Cambridge University. In late 2021, RetroFirst was shortlisted for Campaign of the Year at the British Journalism Awards.

Will was previously named Infrastructure, Development & Construction Journalist of the Year at the British Journalism Awards in 2017 and shortlisted for that year's Paul Foot Award for his investigation into London's Garden Bridge. The previous year, he won IBP Journalist of the Year for this body of work.
